Avoid Sitting At All Costs

Avoid Sitting At All Costs (2018) was largely inspired by Spike Jonzes’ music video for the song “Drop” by The Pharcyde. This structuralist video was completely reveresed in the editing process. During the shoot, the actor was directed to move backwards. Each scene was filmed with the intention that when reversed in the editing process, the video would be corrected to represent forward, natural, linear movement. Small audiovisual glitches and a faded coloring hint to the viewer that something is off. This video is intended to highlight the ability to alter reality and time in the editing process and bring attention to the editing process.
